Ch. 1 1. How would you compare the differences in teaching styles between whole class instruction and those who differentiated instruction? Teaching styles in whole class is in character a one way to do something. It can be regimented and no room for much change or variances. Id say it is monotonis. Differentiated instruction can be more flexible and conforming to others needs.
Ch. 1 2. Based on what Ive read in this chapter, what do you see as the key principles, or governing ideas, of differentiated classrooms? I believe differentiated instruction is conforming to others needs and isnt as regimented. There is room for growth of the individuals. It can be more creative and fun or interesting to the students because you are basing it on their interests.
Ch. 2 1. How do the various examples of differentiation in Ch. 1 fit into the organizer? What about your own work with students? The differentiation example in Ch. 1 definitely showed instruction that responded to students varying learning styles to students managing their lessons or routines. Also how they focused on their own passions or likes using lots of strategies. In my own work I try to conform to their likes but for sure their needs. However my own work isnt currently as differentiated as it could be.
Ch. 2 2. In your experience, how does the presence of these beliefs shape schools or classrooms? What about the absence of these beliefs? I believe without these beliefs in schools and classrooms they wouldnt be such safe environments for our children. They should be able to feel safe and respected and wanted when they go to school each day, without them they probably wouldnt have an environment like this.
